Leaders, Arise!

Updated: Apr 6, 2021

A leader is someone who influences - both the people who choose to follow and the people outside of the “follower” group who interact with the leader. A good leader is willing to serve and do what is necessary to get the job done while delegating, empowering, and trusting the people with whom the leader works. (Quora.com)

A leader is someone who arises and takes action and inspires the same in others.

Arise denotes a shift in position that pushes you upward and requires corresponding actions. For example, Arise, go…, Arise, eat…, Arise, take… Regardless of the action, it requires forward motion – the opposite of immobility. To arise is an act of the will (intention), strength (physical, mental, emotional dexterity) and discipline (internal fortitude).

"The power of intention is an act of the will, not skill. Thought, intention and action. [Therefore] live intentionally." (Dr. Cindy Trimm)

Isaac Newton’s law of motion states, “A body at rest remains at rest unless acted upon by an outside force. A body in motion stays in motion or continues to move unless acted upon by an outside force.”

The word arise, and the internal disciplines required to take action debunks the theory of external action in this context. To arise and go is propelled purely by an act of the will or determination, even if the individual is somehow physically incapacitated and needs someone or something to help him move. It requires conscious intention.

Once you get moving and are focused on your intended goal, the only thing that can stop you is your lack of internal motivation. No matter what obstacles or hindrances show up your forward motion stops only when you stop, or make the choice to change.

I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, (Philippians 3:13 TLB).

Arising also involves a mental shift. To get up or rise up from your current mental, emotional, psychological or physical position necessitates visionary thinking, i.e., to look beyond where you are to where you want to go and who you want to be. It requires an elevation in your level of thought. Old thought processes and paradigms will only debilitate and keep you immobile therefore you must think beyond your current state. Develop new systems, networks, get new knowledge and new skills and activate the law of intention and desire to go to that next level.

The law of intention and desire states that we can change the energy and informational content of our bodies by changing what we think. We can also control what happens outside of our bodies by changing our energy and information. (Deepak Chopra)

Develop the drive and endurance you need by putting intention, determination and action to work to unlock and maximize your hidden potential. Potential is not what you have already done, it’s what you haven’t done that you are gifted to do and capable of doing. Everything that we see physically on this earth and in our world is simply the manifestation of potential. Even God’s potential is on display for us to see.

I am calling all the sleeping and reluctant leaders to unlock your potential and ARISE!

“Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" (.J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit)
