I recently watched the movie Kung Fu Panda and the morale of the story resonated with me and how we can apply lessons from the story to our lives. Kung Fu Panda, an animated martial arts adventure, talks about an ordinary fat panda chosen by a wise tortoise to defend the valley of peace by defeating the most powerful snow leopard. The fat panda learns life’s valuable lessons and overcomes obstacles to rediscover the great strength within through courage and perseverance to evolve and transform to be a hero.
We have the power to choose how we perceive our current situation. A crisis is an opportunity to reflect, learn and grow to be a better version of ourselves. What can we do to make a difference?
How can we explore life’s lessons and look to the future with immense hope?
Use the time now to pause, reevaluate and think about how you can change your life for the better. Use the valuable time that you have been gifted to think deeply. You will emerge a stronger and more powerful version of you.
We tend to look back at the past with deep regret and the future with questions. Today is a valuable gift for us to seize the moments and rise like the phoenix! We have the power to change our future.
How can we ensure that external forces don’t create obstacles in our lives? Draw upon the great courage and self-belief within you to build your own story. Your strategy is like a recipe. You need to find the right ingredients for a wonderful outcome. You need to decide on your focus. Do you tend to let your surroundings control your focus? Become aware of your patterns of thinking to build awareness and change your paradigm.
Do you view different situations in life as a problem, a challenge or a gift? Is this the end or the beginning? Did you know that new perceptions and belief systems can propel you to unimaginable heights? The way we perceive the world influences the direction of our lives in a positive or negative path.
Our mind is like water and when we allow self-reflection, we have the power to respond proactively and find solutions in any situation. We have no limitations in life. The only limitations we have are the ones we place on ourselves. We can draw inspiration from people who have overcome adversity to shine through like a beacon of light.
Michael Jordan, the best player in the history of the NBA said that he missed more than 9,000 shots in his career, almost lost 300 games, missed 26 winning shots and he has failed repeatedly and that is why he succeeded. He always found a way to overcome obstacles through, persistence, determination and positive thinking.
Throughout history people have overcome all obstacles to create a new destiny and make a difference for us all. Helene Keller, despite being deaf and blind, learnt to read and write. Abraham Lincoln overcame his own self-limiting beliefs to inspire a nation against slavery. Chris Gardner went through poverty, humiliation, lived in a homeless shelter, many job rejections before he became a millionaire. Mahatma Gandhi led a nation to freedom through the power of non-violence.
You need to believe in yourself and create your own destiny. Your power of belief can transform you to overcome immense obstacles and achieve dreams. It’s your choice to focus and transform yourself into a better version of you.
Think and reflect deeply. How can you leverage this time you have to make a difference? What strengths do you have that can contribute to making a difference? How can you cultivate greater purpose in your life?
What can you do to be more than what you are now? What can you give back to your family, your community, your workplace? What proactive action steps will you take now? Elevate your life by being proactive and focusing on solutions.
The power of positive thinking affects your actions as Kung Fu Panda demonstrated by letting go of his self-limiting beliefs. You have the power to determine your mindset regardless of outside influences. You can’t change life’s events however, you can control how you react to them. When you focus on the positive, the whole world opens to you.
