Proverbs 23:7 says, As a man thinketh in his heart so is he. I read a book with the same title earlier this year Suffice it to say, it made me think about what I’m thinking about, and whether my thoughts are helping me to progress or they are holding me back. I also read a book titled Women who changed the world. What I noticed about these 50 women had very strong convictions and strong personalities who were risk takers. They were willing to risk everything to accomplish their visions – to accomplish their dream, some to the point of death.
It made me ask myself, have I found a cause yet that I’m willing to die for? Myles Munro said, “Once you find something that you are willing to die for you have found purpose.” It brought me back to my original thought: As a man thinketh so is he. I sent out a survey not long ago asking to very poignant questions:
1. Are you satisfied with the results that you’re getting out of your life?
2. If not, what are you willing to change to get the results that you want?
You know what? No one responded to that survey. I can only assume that they are still thinking about their answers. I thought maybe the questions were confusing but looking at them again, they seem pretty straightforward to me. I know most of these people and I know some of them, myself included, need to make some drastic changes in our lives. But again, as a man thinketh so is he. So I asked myself this question, could things be the way they are, because you are the way you are? As a man thinketh…are you following me?
The definition of madness, they say, is to do the same thing over and over, expecting different results. Again, as a man thinketh. So my question for you today is, that dream you have, what are you willing to do to fulfill it? That thing you want to change in your life, what are you willing to do to change it? Risk takers are history makers. What are you willing to do to impact history?
Faith means risk – you have to be willing to step out and do something you’ve never done before without knowing the outcome. You create the outcome by your actions. Are you willing to take the risk? The only thing to fear is fear itself, and a definition of fear is false evidence appearing real. Shake it off and take a history defining step into fulfilling your destiny.
