Empowered To Thrive

Chapter 4, Module 2 -
The Transition

A setback is only a setup for a comeback!

Sudden change or adversity can cause setbacks, but if they are handled correctly, can help you to grow and advance in your life. Adversity can catapult you to your greatness if you learn to rise up out of what is designed to bring you down. You are an overcomer!

Change is difficult and painful, but fighting through the transition helps you to become more. You are growing stronger, wiser and more resilient. Going through a transition means letting go of what you like, to face the uncertainty of what lies ahead, in order to get to the new beginning that you desire. Sometimes it will feel like you are being crushed under the weight of it, but pay attention, because something new is being birthed out of the hardship. God uses life’s challenges as outward pressure to transform us within and prepare us for our destiny.

Only those who dare to fail greatly can achieve greatly. (Myles Munroe).

Dr. Cindy Trimm says, “Life’s challenges expose three things:

  1. Your weaknesses to keep you humble

  2. Your strengths to keep you encouraged

  3. Your commitment to keep you going”.

Exercise 2

  1. What are you willing to give up to get to where you want to be? i.e. what trade-offs are you willing to make to live your best life?

  2. What needs to be in place for that to happen?

  3. What are you NOT willing to give up?

  4. How do you handle the fear of failure?

  5. What do you need to give up right now, that you have been unwilling to give up in the past?
